HOSPICE CUP ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBER MOLLY WINANS

Annapolis, MD, April 2020 – The Hospice Cup is pleased to announce Molly
Winans to the Board of Directors. A lifelong sailor, Molly has been part of the SpinSheet team for 17 years, and editor for 12.5 of them. Although she is mostly a cruising sailor these days, she is an experienced racer and loves to write about racing sailors, because of their passion for the sport and their unique language on the race course.

“Hospice Cup is special to me for many reasons.” said Winans. “First of all, can it be held in a prettier season for sailing in Annapolis? It’s also one of the best regatta parties of the year. But most importantly, when you learn first-hand about what Hospice services really are and what they do to help families, as I did at the end of my mom’s life in 2012, you never forget it. From providing volunteers to check on her, to spiritual and grief counseling, to explaining to our family
what was coming next at a time when we felt rudderless and confused: it was all very impressive and helpful. Joining the board is my way of thanking the local Hospice for adding dignity to the end of my best friend’s life.”

“We are thrilled to have Molly join the board.” said Christine Lasser, Hospice Cup Executive Director. “Molly’s enthusiasm, knowledge of the sailing community, and passion for Hospice will certainly be such an asset to our organization.”
