CALL FOR ARTIST ENTRIES TO REPRESENT HOSPICE CUP XXXIII

[ANNAPOLIS, MD] Hospice Cup, Inc. is calling for all artists, from painters to photographers, to submit work to serve as the official image of Hospice Cup XXXIII taking place in Annapolis, MD on September 20, 2014.

The deadline to submit artwork to Hospice Cup, Inc. is January 21, 2014. The judging will be done by popular vote at a public reception on January 30th. All submitted artwork will be on display at Maryland Federation of Art’s Circle Gallery from January 22th to January 30. Artists may submit their original work of “Racing and Sailing Representations” by contacting Karma O’Neill, Hospice Cup, Inc. Executive Director at 410-919-8393.

The winning artwork will be the representational image for the 2014 Hospice Cup event and will appear in promotional advertisements, videos, event t-shirts, and posters. Hospice Cup has regional exposure with participating hospices representing Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, Calvert County, Anne Arundel County, Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, and the Eastern Shore.

While the chosen image will become the property of the Hospice Cup, Inc., the winning artist will receive full recognition for the image. The image will also be donated to the 2014 Shore Party Auction following the Hospice Cup XXXIII race to help raise funds for hospice services.

In 2013, Hospice Cup sponsors raised nearly $160,000. These dollars enable the hospices to provide skilled compassionate care, comfort and dignity to the terminally ill, their families and friends, regardless of their ability to pay. Funds also help support bereavement counseling, children’s bereavement camps, and support groups after the loss of a loved one.

Hospice Cup is the largest fundraising regatta in the United States and is the original hospice regatta. It is also a proud member of the 26-regatta National Hospice Regatta Alliance, www.hospiceregattas.org.

More information on the Hospice Cup event is available online at www.hospicecup.org.
